This is a good news for iPhone owners who preserved their BaseBand before and rely on ultrasn0w. Ultrasn0w is a software unlock for iPhone which let you use any GSM carrier network across the world. Few days ago, we told you that Redsn0w would support a functionality where you can preserve your BaseBand while upgrading to iOS 5.0. Considering this, ultrasn0w will be upgraded by DevTeam team tomorrow.
It seems that in addition to the ultrasn0w compatibility for iOS 5.0, DevTeam has to release the latest version of Redsn0w+Pwnage tool where users would be able make a custom firmware. This custom firmware would allow them to preserve BaseBand of their iPhone. As of now, we have only two iPhone – iPhone 3GS & iPhone 4 which needs to be supported. However, iPhone 4S would come with iOS 5.0 pre-installed, so there is no point of supporting it right now.
Please note that this will not unlock your iPhone 4 on the new iOS 5.0 BaseBand. Instead, it would help people with the preserve BaseBand on iOS 5.0 to revive their unlocking days again. We will keep you updated on it.
